Embedded Software Engineer – Waltham

Emerging semiconductor company is seeking and Embedded Software Engineer for immediate hire.

Develop embedded software involving ThreadX real-time operating system. Highly technical position including design, implementation, and support of software development kit tools enabling customers and internal projects to develop products with in-house All-in-One system controller. Requires strong organizational and process skills, ability to communicate and support others in the engineering organization, and strong desire to document work and design within a team.

Major Responsibilities:
- Design and implement new close-to-the-hardware software with ThreadX RTOS primitives
- Develop new tools to improve software development practices for our custom SoCs
- Go-to person for low-level system operation including design reviews, development assistance, and debug
- Support of enabling new features of the RTOS in the development environment
- Support developers/customers in the use of ThreadX in the development environment including new threads, messages, events, mutexes, etc.
- Develop and support tools to assist in development with ThreadX

Required Skills
- Ability to travel - domestic and international
- Proficiency in Asian language a plus
- Proficiency in English language a necessity
- Authorization to work in the US for any employer

Required Experience
- 7-10 years relevant experience
- Embedded software development using commercial RTOS, preferably ThreadX RTOS and LINUX.
- Experience with inkjet printers, laser printers, or All-in-One products a plus
- Networking or WiFi development and integration experience a plus.
- Previous work experience in a commercial, preferably, consumer product-development environment working under strict schedules.
- Record of innovative tool development *
- Bachelor's Degree - Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, Master's Preferred or relevant experience
