Description
Responsibilities:
The Network Engineer is responsible for setting up and maintaining our Cisco and
Aruba
switches and routers which support core systems and services on campus including VoIP. S/he will collaborate with peers to develop our network architecture as needed in order to expand capacity and support new technologies. As a part of the networks and Systems group, s/he will contribute to network security, fiber channel SAN networking, 802.1x, DNS/DHCP, wireless, Cisco VoIP and other networking technologies. In addition this position is responsible for ensuring the stability and reliability of the network including responding to network outages 24x7 and performing upgrades off hours.
Qualifications:
Requirements for this position include a Bachelor's degree as well as 3 to 5 years of work experience, some experience may be substituted for the required education; strong communication skills; and fundamental knowledge of Cisco IOS (CCNP preferred), DNS, DHCP, Linux/UNIX, multicast, routing protocols, and network analysis and troubleshooting skills.
