Position: Product Manager
As a solution-centric company, our client gives both a high degree of responsibility and has very high expectations for the leadership role product management plays. Product Managers are the stewards of the solutions that the company provide, and act in multiple roles:
1) drives the research, analysis, and strategy for the roadmap and direction of existing and new solutions
2) has the perspective of almost being "general managers" for each of the solutions, to understand the full view of what is needed from a product, technology, and services standpoint in order to deliver the greatest value
3) is deeply process oriented to help drive key cross-departmental processes
4) cares about details in order to document and communicate detailed requirements to engineering for what needs to be built
5) is passionate about products and technologies and becomes the company's best product expert and resource for sales and other organizations
Responsibilities include:
• Research market requirements and gather strategic direction and feature level details from customer interactions, competitive analysis, market trends, and other sources
• Document business requirements, detailed functional requirements, and work with designers on user experience as part of product development lifecycle.
• Interact with development to support coding, testing, and release of product
• Serve as product expert and resource for sales, marketing, and service teams
• Develop definitions of whole solution and interact and coordinate with other departments to build plans to deliver the solution
Experience:
• 3+ years of product management experience for software and/or internet companies.
• Ideal candidate brings experience in related enterprise software markets (eg, CRM, Marketing Automation, e-Commerce, Analytics/BI, Enterprise Search, Content Management) and/or internet markets (eg B2C e-Commerce, Internet Search, B2C web businesses, Web 2.0 businesses, etc.)
• Ideal candidate has experience working in or with financial services, travel, hospitality, or retail industries
• Strong software and technology background and ability to go “toe-to-toe†with development
• Demonstrated ability to lead and participate effectively in cross-functional teams
• Experience working closely with development, QA, sales, marketing, and services teams.
• College degree required. MBA and/or technical degrees are valued.
