The Solution Architect position is equivalent to a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer. The position is highly visible both within Mentors Emulation Division and within MGC as a whole. The SA is the technical expert on MGCs emulation products visible to customers and the MGC sales forces.Mentors Emulation Division (MED) develops, produces and markets emulators and support solutions/applications for functional verification of integrated circuit designs. The products encompass the realm of verification use modes from simulation acceleration to In-circuit emulation (ICE) to file- and memory-based vector acceleration. MED develops both the HW and SW necessary for complete turn-key verification solutions. MEDs products are synergistic with MGCs other functional verification tools such as QuestaSim (formerly ModelSim). They also work interoperably with other vendor simulation tools.Responsibilities include: - Engagement with customers in the emulation platform pre-sales phase.- Technical advice and assistance to sales account managers in early engagement phase.- Technical discovery, evaluation effort estimation and Statement-of-work (SOW) development. - Technical evaluation of customer designs and incorporation with MED products. - Evaluation follow-up and sales AE handoff, including AE training for MED products.The position also requires performance in the following key areas: - Liaison between field/customer and R&D/Marketing.Requirements:Requirements:BSEE or MSEE required.Solid understanding of the FPGA design flow preferred.Communication system/signal processing and Matlab knowledge a plus.Ability to travel extensively both regionally and worldwide for customer engagement and/or training purposes.Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in a multi-national engineering environment, working collaboratively with all groups.Strong communication skills are essential.About Mentor Graphics: Mentor Graphics is a technology leader in electronic design automation (EDA), providing software and hardware design solutions that enable companies to develop better electronic products faster and more cost-effectively.
